Objective

The Velocicoaster promo came to life through Universal Orlando® Resort's need to generate excitement for a headliner attraction that was still in development. Elements such as the ride car and track were constantly evolving as construction progressed, requiring 3D models, copy and other visual aids to be modified throughout the process. The teaser needed to steer clear of showcasing talent from the feature films, while building buzz for the attraction well before opening. With those limitations in mind, Universal Orlando Resort reached out to Adrenaline to craft a trailer that would excite audiences and build anticipation.

Solution

The assets available to our team included an animation of the coaster exterior, a rendering of the coaster POV, the Jurassic World® film, music cues from the Jurassic World score, and a library of velociraptor sound effects. We curated images and created graphics in accordance with copy to build excitement, along with custom 3D modeling. The resulting teaser showcased how the ride would look and more importantly — how the ride would feel. After 7 months of approvals between Universal Public Relations and Universal Pictures®, the Velocicoaster promo generated media attention and was awarded an ADDY®. Awards: Silver ADDY Award
